Laser hair removal works by targeting hair follicles with concentrated beams of light (laser). The pigment, or melanin, in the hair absorbs the laser’s energy, which heats the follicle and damages it, inhibiting future hair growth. The process is most effective on dark, coarse hair and lighter skin, as the contrast between hair and skin allows the laser to focus more accurately on the pigment.
Multiple sessions are usually required because hair grows in cycles, and the laser is only effective on hair in the active growth phase (anagen). It can significantly reduce hair growth but may not always lead to permanent removal.
Hair follicles that are treated effectively in the active growth stage will never grow back. However various factors such as hormones, medication, pregnancy & menopause can cause stimulation in dormant hair follicles, a top up session will help to keep on top of future re-growth.
We can treat skin types 1-5 on the fitzpatrick scale, best results are achieved on dark hair as the laser needs pigment to build heat in the follicle. Laser is not effective on blonde, grey or red hair colours.
For client safety clients with skin type 5 & above we advise to find a clinic that offers ND Yag solid state laser rather than diode for best results and safe removal.
When you purchase 5 sessions and pay up front you will receive your 6th Session absolutely free. We also have a pay per session option and split payment plans to suit everyones affordability.
We do not treat clients during pregnancy. Unfortunately there is not enough research around the risks to a baby so we advise you to wait.
We would advise to wait 4-6 months post-partum before starting laser to allow the hormones to regulate as starting too soon can make the treatment less effective.
Our laser technician will complete the consent and consultation form with you to check your medical history, medication and suitability for treatment.
We will explain how the laser works and every step of the process to you whilst discussing your expectations and answer any questions you may have. Including pre and post treatment care.
A patch test will be carried out on your inner arm and we will discuss your treatment and payment plan. The exciting part is getting you booked in to start your journey to a hair free life.
Please arrive to your consultation with at least 2 days growth in the area you wish to be treated so we can assess and take photos for progress. Ensure you have removed all fake tan and have not been exposed to direct sunlight or Sunbeds for at least 14 days.
ABSOLUTELY!! Unlike other hair removal methods we ask you to shave within the 24hr period before your appointment & anytime Inbetween treatments. You will start to notice patches throughout until the desired result is achieved.
Top tip- Holding off shaving for 2 weeks after your appointment will allow you to see the shedding phase so you can see the results of your session. However if you can’t, that's absolutely fine.
Don't worry if your appointment falls on your monthly menstrual cycle. As long as you have a tampon applied we can continue to zap away!
The sensation can be more painful during this time so we recommend to plan around your cycle for this reason.
We carry out sessions every 4-8 weeks consistently until there is a noticeable reduction In hair growth. Treatment frequency will be monitored by your laser technician and scheduled accordingly with the intervals extending further as you go.
We may ask for pictures along the way to check your progress.
We recommend a yearly top up appointment to ensure any stubborn hairs are zapped away. Our hormones and medical issues can cause hair growth so this will keep things under control.
Each client is different so we can never say exactly how many treatments but the average is between 8-12 sessions to achieve the desired results. Male hair can be more stubborn due to the testosterone and the bodies natural desire to grow hair so please bear this in mind.
A missed session will not reverse your results, although we need to target the hairs at their
active growth stage. Keeping up to your treatment plan consistently will ensure all the hairs are zapped away.
At your consultation you will be required to pay a £25 rolling deposit to secure your future appointments. We operate a 48hr cancellation policy. Please let us know if you cannot make it 48hrs before the time of your appointment, failure to do so we result in the deposit being lost and a further deposit will be payable to secure your next appointment. If the policy is adhered to the £25 deposit will be deducted from your last treatment upon completion of your treatment plan.
If you book through social media or email you will need to confirm your appointment on Fresha with your bank card, the appointment will not be confirmed until this has been done. Don’t worry no funds will be taken from your account , unless you do not turn up.
Laser tattoo removal can cause some discomfort, often described as similar to the sensation of snapping a rubber band against the skin. The level of pain varies depending on the tattoo's size, location, and the individual's pain tolerance. Despite the temporary pain, many find the results well worth it for the permanent removal of unwanted tattoos.
Yes, numbing cream can be used for laser tattoo removal to help minimise discomfort. These topical anesthetics are applied to the skin approx 45 minutes before the procedure to numb the area and reduce the sensation of pain. You can purchase numbing creams over the counter or online to apply prior to your appointment. Please note we do not supply numbing creams, this can make for a more comfortable experience for clients undergoing tattoo removal. Always consult with your practitioner to determine the best pain management options for your treatment.
The downtime for laser tattoo removal is generally minimal. Most people can return to their normal activities immediately after the procedure. However, it's common to experience some redness, swelling, and tenderness in the treated area for a few days. It's important to follow aftercare instructions, which typically include keeping the area clean and protected, avoiding sun exposure, and refraining from picking at scabs or blisters that may form. Full healing between sessions can take 4-6 weeks, during which the skin regenerates and the tattoo lightens further.
When undergoing laser tattoo removal, it's crucial to follow specific rules regarding sun exposure to ensure effective treatment and minimize the risk of complications:
1. Avoid Sun Exposure: Keep the treated area out of direct sunlight for at least 4-6 weeks before and after each session. Sun exposure can increase the risk of skin damage and pigmentation changes.
2. Use Sunscreen: If you need to be outdoors, apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 to the treated area. Reapply regularly to maintain protection.
3. Wear Protective Clothing: Cover the treated area with clothing to shield it from the sun. Hats, long sleeves, and other protective garments can help keep the area safe.
4. Avoid Tanning Beds: Stay away from tanning beds and artificial UV light, as these can also affect the skin's healing process and the effectiveness of the laser treatment.
By carefully managing sun exposure, you can help ensure a smoother, safer, and more effective tattoo removal process.
Laser tattoo removal involves using high-intensity laser beams to break down the ink particles in the tattoo. The body’s immune system then gradually absorbs and eliminates these smaller particles over time, causing the tattoo to fade.
The number of sessions required depends on various factors such as the size, color, and age of the tattoo, as well as the type of ink used and your skin type. On average, 6 to 12 sessions are needed, spaced 6-12 weeks apart.
-Tattoo color: Black and dark blue inks are typically easier to remove than lighter colors like green, yellow, and fluorescent inks.
- Tattoo age: Older tattoos usually fade more easily than newer ones.
- Tattoo location: Tattoos on areas with better blood circulation, such as the chest, are easier to remove than those on extremities like hands or feet.
- Skin type: Fairer skin generally responds better to laser treatments.
Common side effects include redness, swelling, blistering, and temporary skin discoloration. These typically subside within a few days to a week. In rare cases, scarring or changes in skin texture may occur.
While many tattoos can be significantly faded, complete removal isn't always guaranteed. Some colors and ink types are more resistant to laser treatment. However, advancements in laser technology have improved the likelihood of successful removal.
Modern laser technology can be safely used on a wide range of skin types. However, individuals with darker skin tones may require more careful treatment to avoid pigmentation changes.
Yes, laser tattoo removal can be targeted to remove specific parts of a tattoo, allowing for partial removal or modification.
The cost varies depending on the size and complexity of the tattoo, as well as the number of sessions required. we will never be able to say exactly how many sessions you’ll need due to the many factors involved. You can use the online Kirby Desai scale to give yourself an indication of how many sessions you will need.
Certain conditions, such as active skin infections, pregnancy, or having certain medical conditions, may contraindicate laser tattoo removal. A thorough consultation with a professional will help determine if you’re a suitable candidate.
Yes, once the skin has fully healed, you can get a new tattoo over the treated area. It’s recommended to wait several months after the final removal session before getting a new tattoo to ensure the skin has completely recovered.
A Carbon Laser Facial is a non-invasive treatment that combines the application of a carbon lotion with laser technology to deeply cleanse, exfoliate, and rejuvenate the skin. It is effective for treating various skin concerns including acne, large pores, and uneven skin tone.
The procedure involves applying a carbon lotion to the skin, which absorbs impurities. A laser is then used to target and vaporize the carbon particles, taking with them any dirt, oil, and dead skin cells. This process also stimulates collagen production, resulting in tighter, smoother skin.
- Immediate lifting and tightening
- Deep cleansing and purification of pores
- Exfoliation of dead skin cells
- Reduction of fine lines and wrinkles
- Improved skin tone and texture
- Acne and oil control
Most clients describe the sensation as a mild tingling or slight warmth on the skin. It is generally well-tolerated, and any discomfort is minimal.
A typical Carbon Laser Facial session takes about 30 to 45 minutes, making it a convenient option for those with busy schedules. Our facial has a little added luxury so we allow 1 hour for the treatment.
Many clients notice immediate improvements in skin texture, however for full results it is recommended to have a course of 4 treatments at 2 weekly intervals. Following this 2-3 treatments per year will maintain your results.
Laser pigmentation removal is a cosmetic procedure that uses laser technology to target and break down pigmented areas of the skin, such as age spots, sunspots, freckles, and melasma. The laser energy is absorbed by the pigmented cells, causing them to break apart and be naturally eliminated by the body's immune system.
The laser emits short pulses of light that penetrate the skin and are absorbed by the pigmented areas. This energy causes the pigment to fragment into smaller particles, which are then gradually removed by the body's natural processes.
Most clients describe the sensation as a mild stinging or snapping feeling, similar to the snap of a rubber band against the skin. Numbing creams or cooling devices can be used to minimise discomfort during the procedure.
The number of sessions required varies depending on the type and extent of pigmentation, as well as your skin type. Typically, 2 to 4 sessions are needed, spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart.
After the treatment, the treated areas may appear slightly red and swollen, similar to a mild sunburn. This usually subsides within a few hours to a couple of days. Over the next few days, the pigmented spots may darken and then flake off as the skin heals.
Common side effects include redness, swelling, and temporary darkening of the pigmented areas. In rare cases, there may be blistering, scabbing, or changes in skin texture. It’s important to follow post-treatment care instructions to minimise any risks.
- Keep the treated area clean and moisturised.
- Avoid direct sun exposure and apply broad-spectrum sunscreen regularly.
- Do not pick at or scratch the treated areas to prevent scarring.
- Follow any specific post-care instructions provided by your skincare professional.
Advancements in laser technology have made it possible to treat a variety of skin types. However, individuals with darker skin tones may require more careful treatment to avoid pigmentation changes. This will be discussed during a consultation appointmen.
The results of laser pigmentation removal can be long-lasting, but they are not permanent. New pigmentation can develop due to factors such as sun exposure and aging. Maintaining a good skincare routine, including the regular use of sunscreen, can help prolong the results.
Certain conditions may contraindicate laser pigmentation removal, including active skin infections, certain medical conditions, pregnancy, and recent use of certain medications
Laser fungal nail treatment uses a focused beam of light to gently heat and destroy the fungus living under the nail. It targets the infection at its source without damaging the surrounding skin or nail, promoting healthy new nail growth over time.
Most clients need a course of 3–6 sessions, spaced around 4-6 weeks apart, depending on the severity of the infection. During your consultation, we’ll assess your nails and recommend a tailored treatment plan.

Laser hair bleaching uses a gentle ND:YAG laser to lighten fine, dark facial or body hair by breaking down the pigment (melanin) inside the hair shaft. Instead of removing the hair, it turns it blonde or light brown, making it far less visible against the skin.
Common areas include:
• Face (upper lip, chin, sides of face)
• Neck
• Arms
• Back
• Stomach
It’s especially effective for clients with fine, vellus hair (“peach fuzz”) that isn’t suitable for traditional laser hair removal.
The ND:YAG laser emits controlled light energy that targets the pigment in the hair. This heat breaks down the melanin, bleaching the hair from dark to light without damaging the skin. The laser doesn’t remove the hair follicle — it simply camouflages the hair for a smoother appearance.
Most clients benefit from a course of 4–6 sessions, spaced 2–4 weeks apart, to achieve and maintain the best results. Maintenance sessions can then be done as needed.
Laser hair bleaching is virtually painless. You may feel a gentle warmth or mild tingling during treatment, but there’s no downtime afterwards.
Depending on the area, sessions usually take 10–30 minutes. It’s a quick and convenient treatment that can easily fit into a lunch break.
Results are immediate — you’ll notice the hair appears lighter straight after treatment, and it may continue to lighten over the next few days.
Results typically last 4–6 weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle. Regular maintenance helps to keep hair consistently light and less visible.
Yes — the ND:YAG laser is safe for all skin tones, including darker complexions. It specifically targets the hair pigment, not the surrounding skin.
Before treatment:
• Avoid tanning, self-tan, or sun exposure for 2 weeks.
• Do not wax, pluck, or thread the area.
• Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin.
After treatment:
• Avoid heat exposure (hot showers, saunas, sunbeds) for 24–48 hours.
• Use SPF daily if the area is exposed to sunlight.
• Avoid exfoliating or using active skincare products for a few days.
No — you can return to normal activities immediately. Some clients may notice mild redness or warmth, which usually settles within a few hours.
Laser hair bleaching is safe when performed professionally, but it may not be suitable if you:
• Are pregnant or breastfeeding
• Have active skin infections or open wounds in the treatment area
• Have photosensitive skin conditions (e.g. lupus, porphyria)
• Are taking photosensitising medications (certain antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, or acne medications)
• Have recent sunburn or fake tan on the treatment area
• Have epilepsy triggered by light
• Have uncontrolled diabetes or poor circulation
• Have metal implants directly under the area being treated
Yes — it can be safely combined with facial treatments like microneedling, skin rejuvenation, or peels, but not on the same day. Your practitioner will advise you on suitable treatment intervals.
